Jacob de Groot

Jacob is a freelance actor and musician who graduated from the Amsterdam Theater and Kleinkunstacademie in 2016. After graduating he was in Theater Utrecht’s Stad der Blinden and Stage Entertainment’s De Tweeling. Some of his notable credits are the Toneelmakerij’s Anjerkinderen, Bellevue Lunchtheater’s Shostakovich, De Theateralliantie’s Fiddler On the Roof, The Concertgebouw’s Peter en de Wolf, and Theatergroep Zeelandia’s STEEN.

In 2018 he received the musical award for upcoming talent for his role in Fiddler on the Roof.

In 2019 Jacob founded the collective KONVOOI. Since founding the collective they’ve put on productions such as Ilias, a radio play Wannsee and De Meester en Margarita, which critics called “one of the best plays of 2021”. Some of his other notable credits on screen are Niemand in de Stad directed by Michiel van Erp, Vliegende Hollanders directed by Joram Lürsen and Thuisfront which was directed by Tim Oliehoek.
